Correlation of Events in the post-Birker Fell Formation of the Borrowdale Volcanic Group

The talk will focus on the first phase of Ed’s PhD project, using geochemistry to establish potential correlations between pyroclastic deposits associated with caldera formation within the upper Borrowdale Volcanic Group. This enables us to determine the true extent of the widespread deposits and trace them back to their source vents, particularly those in the Langdale, Helvellyn and Haweswater area.
