U3A Event – 3 Billion years of Earth History
Cockermouth U3A Geology Group invite members of Cumberland Geological Society to their next zoom meeting to be held on Monday, 23rd November 2020 at 1.30 finishing at 4pm.
Antartica: 3 Billion Years of Earth History
The illustrated talk will be given by Professor Mike Hambrey who has worked as a field geologist in Antartica for many seasons with the New Zealand Antartic Survey and British Antartic Survey. Since retiring from his academic work he has returned to the Antartic on many occasions as a lecturer and field trip leader on specialist cruises to that area.
The zoom meeting will follow the format of our meeting last month. The meeting will open at 1.30 pm allowing time for folk to join, adjust computer settings etc and get settled in. Mike will start his talk at 2-00pm.
